Lanzhou, May 13 (Gao Xiang) -- A few days ago, the results report of the detailed investigation project of calcite ore resources in the Erlangba mining area of Huoqigou in Liangdang County, Gansu Province passed the review organized by the natural resources department, and finally confirmed that the total resource reserves of calcite ore reached more than 2.2 billion tons, which is the largest single calcite deposit found in China.
　　
It is reported that the Erlangba mining area of Huoqigou in Liangdang County was obtained by Gansu Jinrun Jade Industry Co., Ltd. in October 2009 through the bidding and auction of mining rights, and a national green mine has been built. In the past 10 years, from census to detailed investigation, a total of 23120.5 meters of drilling have been completed, 4150 meters of wells have been extracted, and 3860 samples have been tested by laboratory tests. During this detailed investigation, the control calcite ore layer is 3.5 km long, 1.3 km wide, and the vertical thickness is 69.1-343.7 m. According to the inspection and testing of the National Non-metallic Mineral Products Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, the ore grade in this area is high, the impurities are small, the average content of CaO (calcium oxide) is 55.36%, CaCO3 (calcium carbonate) is 98.6%, and the whiteness is 93%, which is a grade I product, which has great potential for the development and utilization of comprehensive calcium carbonate industry.
　　
Geological data show that the strata of Huoqigou Erlangba mining area are Paleoproterozoic Qinling rock group and early Paleozoic Liziyuan group, of which the Dali rock layer in the Liziyuan group is a calcite ore layer in the area, and the hydrogeology, engineering geology, environmental geology and other conditions of the mining area are good.
　　
Calcite is a crystalline mineral of natural calcium carbonate, which belongs to one of the four major non-metallic minerals, which can be applied in different industrial fields to reduce product costs, improve product performance and use. Therefore, calcium carbonate is also known as "industrial food" and "industrial monosodium glutamate" in the industry.
　　
According to reports, the potential economic value of the mine is more than 50 billion yuan, which will provide strong resource guarantee for the calcium carbonate industry and create good economic and social benefits. At present, the proven reserves can support the production needs of hundreds of large-scale calcium carbonate enterprises, thereby driving the development of upstream and downstream industries such as new materials, plastic products, coatings, and degradable materials, forming a huge advantage of industrial clusters. It will bring "gospel" to the development and application of calcium carbonate in Longnan, Gansu and even the whole country, and fundamentally change the face of "poor calcium carbonate mine" in Northwest Province.
