China's talc deposits are widely distributed in 15 provinces and autonomous regions, but they are relatively concentrated in Liaoning, Shandong, Guangxi, Jiangxi and Qinghai provinces (regions), and the sum of reserves accounts for 95% of the total resources of the country.
Talc is one of China's advantageous minerals, known for its abundant resources and excellent quality. According to statistics, the 38 mining areas in the country have retained reserves of 250 million tons, and the proven reserves and reserves rank second in the world. China's talc deposits are widely distributed in 15 provinces and autonomous regions, but they are relatively concentrated in Liaoning, Shandong, Guangxi, Jiangxi and Qinghai provinces (regions), and the sum of reserves accounts for 95% of the total resources of the country.
Talc reserves and characteristics in five regions of China:
1. Liaoning talc: pink block, high whiteness
The proven reserves of talc in Liaoning are 45.69 million tons, accounting for 18.3% of the total reserves in the country, mainly distributed in Haicheng, Benxi, Dashiqiao, Huanren, Xiuyan, Kuandian, Fengcheng and other cities and counties. Except for Benxi Lianshanguan mining area, all other mining areas are carbonate-type talc deposits, and the metallogenic host rock is magnesite, which is formed by metamorphism in the heat exchange area. The morphology of ore bodies is mostly lentils of different sizes and lenticular bodies appear in groups. The ore is mainly pink, white, gray-white, blue-gray block talc, followed by flaky talc.
Talc minerals are fine-grained scale aggregates, which can be enriched into pure talc, or formed with a small amount of associated minerals such as magnesite, quartz, dolomite, apatite, etc. Pink, white pure talc is pure and smooth, and the whiteness is as high as 95 degrees. Benxi Lianshanguan talc is a kind of plagiolite deposit, and there is often a small talc lens body at the edge of the ore body to form a chlorite-talc deposit, called chlorite talc, the so-called "gray-green talc".
2. Shandong talc: white, smoke block, high whiteness
The proven reserves of talc in Shandong are 44.43 million tons, accounting for 17.8% of the total reserves in the country.Mainly distributed in Pingdu, Laizhou, Qixia and other cities and counties, all belong to carbonate rock type talc deposits. The metallogenic host rocks are magnesite and daliite, which are formed by hydrothermal metamorphism. The ore body is layered and lenticular. The ore is mainly white, gray-white, light green, gray-green block talc, secondary is sheet talc, some are powdered talc and black talc, dense and delicate white, gray-white pure talc.
3. Guangxi talc: gray-white, light green soft talc
The proven reserves of talc in Guangxi are 31.87 million tons, accounting for 12.8% of the total reserves in the country, mainly distributed in Longsheng, Shanglin, Huanjiang and other counties. Longsheng talc is carbonate type soft talc, and the metallogenic host rock is dolomite daliite, which is formed by hydrothermal interaction after magmatic period. The ore body is thick and layered, lent-like, and spaced. The ore is mainly gray-white, light green, gray-green block, flaky soft talc, followed by "gray-green talc:" The material composition is mainly talc, and some contain a small amount of clase chlorite, oblique, quartz, pyrite.
4. Jiangxi talc: sedimentary clay type black talc
The proven reserves of talc in Jiangxi are 74.02 million tons, accounting for 29.6% of the total talc reserves in China. It is mainly distributed in Dudu, Guangfeng, Gao'an and other places, which is a high magnesia sedimentary clay-forming black talc deposit, with stable strata and large distribution range. The ore body morphology is layered, layer-like, lent-like, and appears in groups. The ore is gray, purple gray, black, earthy, and slippery. The mineral composition is mainly talc, and the associated minerals are mostly calcite, quartz, meerschaolite, montmorillonite, organic carbonaceous, etc., and the whiteness is low. After roasting, it can fade and whiten up to 70-85 degrees.
5. Qinghai talc: symbiotic talc mine
Qinghai talc reserves are 41.17 million tons, accounting for 16.4% of the total reserves in the country, mainly including two deposits, one is the super large fiber serpentine asbestos - talc symbiotic deposit in the cliff, and the other is the Qilian small talc-magnesite symbiotic deposit. At present, the degree of development and utilization is low.
Talc is mainly used in rubber, plastics, paints, coatings and other chemical industries as a modified filler. Features: increase the stability of product shape, increase adhesion, filling, hiding power, sanding, increase tension strength, shear strength, bending strength, pressure strength, reduce deformation, elongation, thermal expansion coefficient, etc., high whiteness, uniform particle size, good dispersion and other characteristics.
